Privacy Policy

Effective October 8, 2026

The short version. Bengala has no accounts and no servers of its own. Your projects, photos and videos stay on your device and are never sent to us. The app has no ads and no tracking, and no analytics of its own. Two things leave your phone. One is what our payments provider needs to check whether Pro is active and to process a purchase, sent when the app opens and when you buy. The other is the request to download effect videos, which come from our own address, cdn.bengala.app, hosted by Cloudflare. This website counts anonymous visits, described below, and never touches the app.

Who we are

Bengala: Projection Mapping (the “app”) is developed and published by Igal Daniels. You can reach us at hello@bengala.app.

What the app stores on your device

Everything you make in Bengala lives on your phone or tablet:

None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. We have no servers that could receive it, and we cannot read it. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.

What the app does not do

Your photos, videos and files

When you add a photo or a video from your library, or a file from the Files app, you choose each one, and the app reads only what you chose. It shows the file on your screen and on the projector. It does not upload, scan or share it.

If you project over AirPlay, iOS sends your screen over your Wi-Fi network to the projector or TV you picked. That is an Apple feature between your device and that screen. We do not see it.

Downloading effects

Effect videos are not inside the app. When you tap an effect, the app downloads its video from our own address, cdn.bengala.app, which is hosted by Cloudflare. When the app opens, it also checks the same place for the list of effects, so new ones can appear without an app update. The files are saved on your device, so each effect downloads once.

Like any download from the internet, this lets Cloudflare, which delivers the files for us, see your device’s IP address and the usual details of a request: the time, the file asked for and basic information about the app and the device. We send no account, name or other personal data with the request, and we do not receive request logs, only totals such as how many times a file was downloaded. What Cloudflare does with that information is described in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Purchases

Bengala is free to use, with an optional Pro plan: a weekly subscription, a yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. Payment is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details.

To manage purchases we use RevenueCat, which acts as our payments processor. The app contacts RevenueCat whenever it opens, to check whether Pro is active, and again when you open the purchase screen, buy or restore. In those requests RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier that it generates for your installation, the purchase and receipt information supplied by Apple, and basic technical details such as your device model, operating system version, app version and country. It may also receive an identifier that Apple sets for your device and shares only among apps from the same developer (it is not the advertising identifier). Like any service the app connects to, it also sees the IP address of the request. We use this to check your Pro status and to see aggregated subscription statistics, such as how many people subscribe. These identifiers are not linked to your name, your email, or anything in your projects.

Website analytics

Visiting a page on this website is counted, so that we know how many people reach it and where they arrived from. The count is anonymous and aggregated: no cookies, no identifier that follows you to any other site, and nothing that can be traced back to a person. It is measured by Vercel, which hosts this site, and it stays on the website. The app does not measure how you use it. Nothing on this website loads from another host: the fonts and images are served from this domain.

Links to stores

The gear page links to Amazon and Mercado Libre. Nothing is loaded from them until you tap a link. If you do, you leave this website and the store’s own privacy policy applies. These links may be affiliate links: they carry a code that tells the store the visit came from Bengala, and we are paid a commission if you buy. The page says so when they are. The stores tell us how many purchases came through our links, not who made them.

If you write to us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you tell us. We use it to answer you and to fix the problem you wrote about, and for nothing else.

Children

Bengala is rated 9+ on the App Store, because some Halloween effects are spooky. It is not directed at children under 13. It does not collect personal information from anyone, children included.

Your rights

Because your data never reaches us, you are in full control of it: you can edit or delete any project inside the app, and deleting the app removes everything. If you would like to ask about purchase data held by our payments processor, write to us and we will help.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.

Puedes escribirnos a hello@bengala.app.

Tus fotos, videos y archivos

Enlaces a tiendas
